The following are descriptions of the types of skills we are often looking for.

Principal Consultant

Acts as a primary client contact, assists client in evaluating, identifying, and selecting project staff. Trains, mentors, and provides technical direction to a trainee or experienced project team. Identifies and develops new applications for programming technology. Analyzes requirements, specifies, and recommends development tools, consulting services, or software components needed to complete a client system. Designs and documents the overall architecture of production systems, or prototypes of critical systems.

Requires six years of experience in programming, database development and information management, of which three years must be in Java, C++, or Visual Basic development with at least one year in a supervisory or management role. SQL or Vantive experience can be substituted for 2 years of C++ or Visual Basic. Experience on at least two OS platforms. Relevant graduate education, teaching experience, and/or significant contribution to the profession required.

Senior Consultant

Designs and codes specialized or complex subsystems and interfaces, addressing unusual requirements not amenable to standard architectures. Assists Principal Consultant in client engagements, software solution development, training. Mentors and provides technical direction to an experienced project team.

Requires four years of experience in data processing, programming, and database of which three years must be in Java, C++, or Visual Basic development with at least one year in a supervisory or management role. Relevant graduate education and/or significant contribution to the profession required.

Staff Consultant

Codes and documents prototype subsystems and production classes using standard client-server and layered object architectures.

Requires experience in programming and database development of which 1/2 year must be in Java, C++, or Visual Basic. Relevant bachelors degree or equivalent in education and experience required.
